I know it's been forever and a day since I've posted on this account, but I just wanted everyone to know that I have two new blogs over at Blogger, entitled Geek Chic (where I discuss film, tv, music, pop culture, sci-fi/fantasy, etc.) and Bad Wolf Bay (the blog where all things Doctor Who go). Go check 'em out when you have time as I post on them consistently. I'll try to update over here when I can, but those two blogs are what I will be focusing on most of the time.

Okay, I love House just as much as the next person. He's hot, sarcastic, intelligent, blah blah blah, we've heard it all before. However, tonight's episode where he insulted Cuddy was a big no-no. No one deserves that treatment, especially when they're one of the few people in the world who will protect you.

Go see "The Prestige." NOW! I'm not kidding, that movie is so good. Sure, there will be parts that are frustrating, but it's still an excellent film. Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale, and David Bowie. Nuff said.

So it's been about a month since I've posted on this thing. I feel so bad for abandoning it, but I really did need to take the time off. I still need to keep it on the downlow for a while, but I thought I'd slowly move back into the groove of livejournal obsession. So, without further ado...

Here's how it's going so far.

I still haven't hooked up my computer or my television. Hence, I'm in the library updating... again.

Willie bought the first season of House, and we're both halfway through it.

My roommate is waaaay too quiet--even for me. That's part of the reason why I keep bugging Willie to stay at his place.

I saw Sam Gonzales the other day, so that pleased me.

I have an in class paper to write in my film class AND a monologue to memorize by tomorrow.

Willie is going to California to help one of his friends move back to Texas.

And I spent $70 on two used textbooks. Arrrrrrrgh.

Yeah, just in case everybody knows, the computer in my room is NOT hooked up yet, so I am updating via library computers. School is going okay, even though I had to park in the commuter parking lot today. -____- I'm also losing most of my money that I'm trying to save up to pay off loans on the nonessential things I need right now. You know, gas, prescriptions, food, things like that. In fact, I'll be spending more money for my school supplies, so there goes my next paycheck.

Arrrrgh! I'm such a cheapskate! I need to spend more money for my own desires... but then I would lose all of it. :(

I'll try and update again later today, but don't count on it.

My first class starts today at 2 o'clock--British Literature from 1785 and onward.

I have to be honest and say that I am not ready for school to begin. Why? Because I didn't even get a break this summer. It was all work and no play for me. Schlitterbahn, show, Schlitterbahn, show, Schlitterbahn, Schlitterbahn, Schlitterbahn. It was ridiculous. And I made no friends during work. None. Nobody over there wants to talk to me except for the fifteen year olds that talk nonstop about their ideas for stories they are writing. (How do they find me?!) I guess if I should be pissed about anything, it should be at Schlitterbahn for taking my life away. Damn you, Schlitter! Damn you straight to hell!

Just in case you guys were wondering why I was upset, he ignored me completely while I was hanging out with him and his friends, and it made me feel like one of the most unwanted beings in the world. He didn't even walk me to my car when I decided to leave. It didn't help that I made out with him an hour before. I told him how I felt later that night after I got home. I upset him a little that night, and he apologized and said that he would call me again on Saturday. So he calls yesterday, asking if I was still upset with him, and I said "yes." We talk, and I begin to feel a little less upset about the situation and we make plans to rent a movie and hang out. He comes over, picks me up, and on the way to Blockbuster he starts crying. We talk about it, him saying that he hates that he's still hurting my feelings, and me saying that it would help if he would actually include me in other parts of his life. When he's able to break out a smile, we went in and rented the Matrix.

And I don't think that Laura likes losing an argument with me.

I spoke on the phone with Laura--mainly because she's holding my DVD of Quills hostage--and I invited her to a dinner date with my friend Kelsey Hales and his girlfriend V. Then I tell her that I also invited Willie, and she says she try to be nice. When I told her that I would tell Willie to do the same, she goes, "Why?"

"Well... he's mad that he doesn't like you," I said. And really, I don't blame him--I've hated people when I found out they hated me for no good reason.

And then began the Willie Rant. She talked about her "bad vibe" from him, and how he was always so egotistical, how he dressed up as a hippie, and said he was "trying to be something that he'll never be." She said she didn't like talking about this because I was dating him and I would be offended by it.

Of course, I'm no longer dating Willie, and even though he upset me this weekend, he is still my friend. So I told him that he uses a "joking confidence" to open himself up to others as well as hide his low self-esteem. I must confess, I said a little too much about his personal life, but I think it's something that she needed to hear. Then I told her how much research he's done about the 1960's and 1970's eras, and how much he's beginning to understand them now. And then I told her that Willie and I were not dating anymore. She acted a little shocked, but I heard a very happy tone in her voice. (Bitch.) I told her that we had been having troubles with the distance and that he was ready for sex when I wasn't. Before I could go on to another word she said, and I quote: "Ha! Duh, guy!" I finished what I was going to say, which was he broke up with me so that he could be a better person. Then I called her on her attitude toward him in the last statement she had made, telling her it seemed like an "I told you so." She proceeded to tell me that, "Well, he's not a grade A asshole, it's just I never liked him."

"No," I said. "You made him sound like a grade-A asshole, even before I told you that I broke up with him."

"Well, look, I just didn't like him during high school and I saw right through him--"

"Excuse me, nobody can see through anybody. That's a very egotistical thing to say that you can see through somebody. If you could see through him, you would have been able to see his troubles and everything else that made up the whole picture."

She stopped the conversation after that with a short pause and jumping back to the subject of dinner plans with Kelsey.

I may be a bitch to her behind her back, but I will not have her talking down about another person I know too well and care about too much. I will still try to be her friend, but it will be a cold day in hell before I think that we'll ever be best friends for the rest of our lives if she keeps up with this shit.

Yeah, by the way, the Matrix? Good movie. Good story. Not my favorite.

Trying to take my mind off of boys by doing a music meme

2. The American and Florence/Nobody's Side from Chess - It's my theme of the moment. "The one I should not think of keeps rolling through my mind, and I don't want to let that go. No lover's ever faitful, no contract truly signed. There's nothing certain left to know. And now the cracks begin to show! 5. Step in Time from Mary Poppins - ...what?...
6. All the Wasted Time from Parade - The most beautiful love song ever, and I will never stop listening to it because I want that kind of love soooo badly.
7. The Finale from Passion - Again, I want that kind of love. It was indeed a twisted sort of love at the beginning, but it grew into something that I want very badly.

Doubts whether Depp can cut it as Sweeney Todd

Why I love Stephen Sondheim:
"Stephen Sondheim, the veteran composer, wants the actor to take a voice test before he blesses Depp as cinema’s latest Sweeney Todd.

"The 76-year-old composer is concerned that Depp, who has played with rock bands since he was 13 and based his anti-hero Jack Sparrow on Keith Richards, the Rolling Stone, may be too “rock’n’roll” to play the murderous barber of Fleet Street. "

Tim Burton, the London-based director behind the proposed film, has been praising Depp’s singing voice, but Sondheim needs to be convinced. The composer has said that he will not approve a cinematic version of his Broadway musical, which he describes as “virtually an opera”, if the main character has to mime rather than sing. "

Why I've lost some of my respect for Johnny Depp:

"Hollywood producers acting as mediators between the New York composer and the London-based director have tracked down rock records made by Depp during the 1980s. However, on most of [the records] Depp only plays guitar, so some other form of voice test may prove necessary."

What I did with my day off today:

Did two loads of laundry.

Had lunch with my father at TJ's. (And found out that he lied about selling/destroying my Camry when he drove into the parking lot with it!)

Picked Shaina up from band camp.

Watched V for Vendetta, which I must own. (I watch a lot of dark stuff as a person who looks really good in pink.)

And tonight I'm having dinner with my mom and her new boyfriend.

Oh, what an eventful day on a day when I was supposed to do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! *hurumph*
